Rat – 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996

The Rat person has one the keenest business senses of all the Chinese signs.  This makes the Rat person rather penny-pinching, however, s/he will invest in things that matter most to him/her.  When it comes to close friends and family, s/he will not hesitate to give.  Rat people love to spend time at home and love to take care of their family in the home, they are rather clannish.  Make sure that the kitchen is well equipped to deal with many people.  Rat people love to have family visit, so an extra room for guests is a plus.  A home office might also be appealing, so perhaps that extra bedroom will be absolutely necessary.  If you want to avoid paying up money for a storage unit, make sure that there is a good size garage or storage shed.  At the very least, the Rat person needs a lot of closet space.  The term isn’t “pack rat” for nothing.  Rat people simply cannot resist a bargain, even if the object in question is totally useless!

Ox – 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997

The Ox person is considered the most reliable of the Chinese signs.  This person will always be punctual and make sure every project is seen through until the end.  Hard work, integrity, and consistency are some of his/her favorite words.  The home of an Ox person must be neat and organized.  These people are not looking for something fancy, just something practical and efficient.  Not one to be the life of the party, the Ox person may be more concerned with location than with the house itself.  It can’t be too far away from work to get him/her there on time in the mornings.  No fluffy frills for the Ox person, as long as the rooms are comfortable and easy to move through, that is enough for this solid personality.

Tiger – 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998

Now here is the party goer.  Nothing can keep the Tiger person down.  S/He is a swirl of colors and light and life is always an adventure.  But the Tiger person is not flighty in any sense, s/he will never do anything half/heartedly, it is 100% or more if s/he can.  The Tiger person needs a home that is easy to clean, since pets owners are common among them.  S/He might also consider a nice yard to be a higher priority, both for working outside and holding big barbeques for all their friends.  The Tiger lady is very much into trying all the latest fashions, so make sure the bedroom has a rather large closet.  Space for the Tiger person to express himself or herself is what s/he really needs.

Rabbit – 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999

The Rabbit person is the epitome of harmony and inner peace.  S/He is often considered elegant, refined, and well spoken.  The fields of law, government, and research draw Rabbit people, so a quiet study room will be a good investment for the house hunting Rabbit person.  S/He must have a nice serene place for reflection and maybe a cut of tea.  Rabbit people will also invest the extra little bit for the better home because s/he is not one to cut corners when it comes to quality.  Rabbit people know how to live the good life, because they are fond of leisure and the finer things.

Dragon people possess the enchantment of myths and folklore.  S/He is magnanimous and full of strength and energy.  The Dragon person will have high standards, be rather proud, aristocratic, and very direct.  Although Dragon people may have a temper, they will never abandon a family member or a friend in need.  Sometimes strict to the point of being militaristic, the Dragon person may seek a starched and crisp lifestyle.  Dragon people will want homes that are not overly decorated.  They will also desire a place to gather people to talk about how to help the world, so they’re living room must be big enough.

The Monkey person is the innovative entrepreneur.  Clever, flexible, and charismatic to a fault, Monkey people are the world travelers of the Chinese signs.  They live for discovery and the intellectual pursuit so they need a place to keep all that knowledge.  Fashionable but neat dressers, this personality needs their space to be organized and ready to take on new things.  Extravagance does not necessarily appeal to Monkey people but they like to keep an open mind so they might like their home to be a little exotic.

Rooster people live by precision toward a goal of perfection.  They like to be the center of attention and are pretty frank about their opinions.  When challenged, the Rooster person will go the extra mile to win.  S/He likes a bit of controversy.  The Rooster person will seek a home s/he can take pride in and want to show off.  S/He may have a tendency to over decorate his/her home and s/he must have a place to display awards.  The Rooster person’s house is something that s/he will invest more in for that extra quality.  This personality will seek neatness, efficiency, and classic taste when house hunting.

Justice and honor call the Dog person.  These people are honest, intelligent, and loyal.  They are humanitarians and love the company of people in a warm environment.  The home a Dog person seeks will have a big kitchen and living area.  In the world, the Dog person will work hard to right the wrongs of the world, but at home s/he prefers an easy laziness.  Altruistic by nature, expensive home will not really appeal to the house hunting Dog person.
